CEDO
is the Centro de Estudios de Desiertos y Océanos,
or the Center for the Study of Deserts and Oceans. CEDO is ideally
located for this purpose, sitting on the northern edge of the
Gulf
of California in Puerto Peñasco,
Sonora, Mexico, where the desert meets the ocean. It is a non-profit
organization in both the
United States and Mexico. University of Arizona students routinely
visit CEDO and the shores of the Gulf
of California to learn about the ocean and its conservation.
CEDO provides a library, wet lab and field station, perfect for
student field trips which concentrate on marine biology, marine
ecology and conservation biology. CEDO sells a tide calendar for the northern gulf.
